Formed in 2013, Paper Nova is a diverse Seattle band whose sound spans genres, from indie to alternative to art rock. Their music combines powerful, theatrical vocals with upbeat, layered instrumentals that evolve throughout the duration of each track. Vocalist Christy Anna Wu draws influence from a variety of strong women leads including: Shirley Manson (Garbage), Teresa Teng, and Julie Andrews. The band's sound could be compared to Portishead, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and The Strokes.
